Growth

Growing can be uncomfortable.

I rescued my little herbs from the wintry frost.

Reflecting on this little act of saving my plants, I cannot help but think of how discomfort plays a vital role in growth.

I think of the little dead seeds that were showered with water and sunshine to put forth roots, to reach as high as possible everyday.

Our brains hate discomfort-they’re meant to protect us. But what our brains can often get in the way of achieving that long-desired goal.

It’s easy to stay where you are. It’s easy to revert to coping mechanisms that only leave you in a more desperate place than before. It’s easy to stay dormant and to not choose anything.

Do something that helps you grow. Embrace the discomfort as the change you’ve always wanted to become. It’s simply a feeling, it cannot harm you. I show you how!
