He Cares about the Onions

While prepping for my bi-weekly grocery run, I checked to see how many onions I had left and was unsure if I needed to buy more.

Undecided, I went for a walk with my two boys in the woods on a gorgeous spring day.

While walking, I was drawn to a certain plant of that was wild onion.

I walked over and pulled it out of the ground. Sure enough, there was the little white bulb.

I felt in that moment that the Lord was saying that I don’t need to worry about buying onions. He had provided a vast amount for me all over this shaded area of wood.

I was overwhelmed by gratitude and awe at the care of our Heavenly Father.

Yes, I could go to the store and buy everything I need but, He instead beckons me to rely upon Him, even with onions.

Not only does He provide, He provides in ABUNDANCE. He cares not only about my marriage, my sons, my business, etc., he cares about every detail and is there waiting to show me His great love and tender care in every aspect of my life.

It reminds me of the verse, “Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?”

It is silly for me to think that my Heavenly Father doesn’t care, especially in beautiful moments like this. I can simply rest in this truth, in this promise and allow these moments to be brought forth in times of trial or doubt. I can cling to them like a life raft out at sea.

For if He is constantly there for us, what need do we have to worry or be anxious? We are missing out on His glory, His provision, His wonder.

I invite you to step into this space of trust and abandonment today and see how the Lord can show up for you!
